I want to add in an accessory, that is powered by a live wire that turns on and off with the ignition switch. ie when you turn on the bike its live and when you turn off the bike its not.
Can anyone direct me towards a place/wire to splice into? maybe even a spot on the fuse box. i have an inline fuse on the accessory.
Any help gratly appreciated..
cheers
Check out this thread. My MY2017 has one in the headlight and behind the left sidepanel. I'm guessing these are on the earlier models too. There must be other threads in the forum on this too as I must be a common question, try some key words in the search tool. http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=16367
Like Tev said they are there. The accessory connectors are red and are capped. Remove the cap and you can plug in something if you buy the connector. Or clip it off and just use the wires. The headlight acc. connector has 2 wires. IIRC the other one has 4 wires on '14 models and up.
Just on that Lord Popgun the side panel connector on my 2017MY was a white Sumitomo 4-wire, they must have changed it from the earlier models. There is a Red diagnostic connector too and I did manage to get that working with an OBD2 conversion cable mentioned elsewhere on the forum. I never got round to opening up the headlight.
We are literally discussing this on the installing a GPS thread. I ordered the connectors from terminal cycle to wire my auxilary lights to the accessory plug in the headlight bucket

Good to know Tev. Thanks Thumbs Up
I tapped into the rear light wire as it was right next to the place i wanted. The accesory draws less than 2a. Can anyone see a problem with this? If so Ill run a wire from the headlight to under the seat...cheers
Is there an accessory point behind the left sidepanel on the 2013?
And is that 'left side' sitting on the bike or standing infront?
Im guessing the red capped one is it?
How do you get the cap off?, I tried very hard all sorts of ways.
ok got the cap off after reading through mvk24 GPS thread, ordered pllug from Ali express. Also noted my 2011 has 4 wires comming out of the accessory plug...someone sugested the 2013 only has 2 wires..
might check under the seat box to see if theres another plug ...fun fun fun
The rear plug should be under the tool box. remove the seat, remove the tool box and look at the wire bundle behind the battery, on the left side by the frame rail. There is a big boot with connectors in it. The acccessory plug will (or should be) red and has a dummy cap on it.
