I live close to the TankSlapper (https://thetankslapper.biz/) so 5 years ago I rode up and had him create a template for the 2014 CB1100DX model tank. I only installed the front, top, and seat pieces but eventually removed the top (replaced with neoprene pad for tank bag). I also applied some film to my front forks. Five years latter all I can say is this protection really helped stave off the road wear. NOW ... I just had my tank paint touched up to deal with a few chips and one micro dent ... all outside of the TankSlapper film areas. I had to remove the existing flim because the entire tank was re-clearcoated. Just went up to TankSlapper yesterday so Lucas the owner could re-apply the film for me. This time I did the gas tank front, back, and knee areas with his upgraded Xpel Gloss film. OMG ... it is fantastic ... you really can not see the stuff. Happy days again Wink

Some extra protection from those dang bird droppings too, eh?
Great stuff! I used to use Snider's Paint Guard film, but since they went away, I needed to find a new source from cling film, since I hate stone chips or paint imperfections of any kind. I bought a pack of Tank Slapper film when I bought the CB1100 and it went on just as well as Sniders always did. Nice to know someone is there. My Mom lives a stone's throw from their location.
When I got my 2017 I communicated back and forth with Lucas to see if he would make a paint guard for the new 2017 tank shape. After making some inquiries, he said he could not find a bike to use as a template so he would not be making one. I have bought quite a few from him over the years. Good stuff.
I just buy the sheets and make paper templates. Easy peasy.
