To fit it on I pulled the rubber toe shift boot just a bit off the peg, sprayed it with silicon, stuffed the edge into the extension, and the extension did press on easily enough. It is very snug. I don't know how long the rubber rings around the extension will last or slide off. I may just keep a center one in place to keep the boot from being marked by the split metal of the ext. The extension does rotate well enough should shifting require it.

If you want to do it right, I would suggest buying the OEM shift lever, cut and file off the shift peg, drill and tap the flat, and find an aftermarket Harley or similar shift peg to screw into the tapped hole. A lot of options there. More than I want to do right now without riding it a while and maybe saving that for a winter project. I can't ask the forum as yet, because I don't have the prerequisite posts, but I would offer to buy a used lever off a wreck from someone here if possible. Thanks.
