Does anyone have experience with the Givi AF49 Airflow Universal Windscreen on their CB1100? I'm having a hard time learning to live with the buffeting from the three windshields I've tried so far. The airflow looks like it might work.

Any info concerning actual experience with the givi will be appreciated.

If you use the search function and search on AF49 a number of threads come up that mention it.

I've got one. How tall are you? I'm a 5'11" and if you are any taller than that, I'd skip it.

In the "high" spot and with the screen installed as high as possible, I have to scrunch my head ever so slightly down to avoid wind. The buffeting is much less than my Dart Flyscreen Classic I had before. I did take the AF49 on a 2,100 mile trip from Louisiana to Colorado and back, and it worked great, with the caveat that I could not sit up completely straight on the bike for long periods of time.

Note that I do have the K&H High seat so the OEM or even the Corbin seat might give you some wiggle room as far as height / buffeting. The AF49 does work nice in the lowest selection as long as you aren't expecting no wind hitting you at all.

Sorry, I don't have any better pictures of it in the highest position. I haven't had the windscreen on since I took that trip back in the beginning of June. Haven't felt the need to use it. If I had another long trip coming up, I would put it back on though.

Hey, the buffering you experiencing is from combination of factors. Most of those factors are outside of your control, like height and positioning. What you can change is air direction and dissipation. The Givi gives you those options, which is cool, but you don't have to buy that particular windscreen to stop the buffer.

Here is a cheapest and easiest solution to implement, a screen extension.

Just search Ebay for "motorcycle windscreen extension" and you will see different versions. This particular model works best for me, see picture. Just beware that they are sold in different sizes and you want the largest one you can mount on top of your existing screen.

They are infinitely adjustable and you can figure out best position and angle from trial and error.
