I've been trying to get my new mirrors mounted for a few weeks, and the left/right struts I ordered from Dennis Kirk finally arrived. I wanted different mirrors 'cause, IMHO, the stock CB mirrors look like snail eyes, so I got some similar to CB500 mirrors, but not OEM. I was a bit dismayed in that their construction was not up to par, but, you get what you pay for, and I didn't pay for OEM. So, I get 'em mounted, and like the way they look, and eagerly try them out. Wouldn't you know, they vibrate like a vibrator, especially the left one, even at idle. Now I have to see if I can mitigate that vibration somehow via a rubber washer, somehow brace the strut, not sure. I may try the previous strut on the left side even though it's not black like the DK ones are. I'll post some pics when I get them sorted.
I wish I knew how to offset that, I'm also having some blurring in the left mirror, and I've noticed that is because it's got much more of a magnifying effect than the right one. The two come from two different sets that I ordered from different sellers, even though they look exactly the same, because I overtightened one from the first set and it broke (quality cast aluminum)

Hope you sort it out

I futzed with the mirror mounting and did the simplest and easiest thing first, which was to put a rubber washer under the mirror stud. Wouldn't you know, I had no rubber washers. I guess I could have gone to the hardware store, but I'm pretty good at making it work with what I have at hand. I lifetime being around and owning boats helps. I found a piece of plastic hose, cut off about 1/2in, slit it open, and made a hole, then snipped off the corners. I put it in there and snugged it down, then went for a test. Lo and behold, it did help, some at least. The vibe is considerably less, and I'll probably get an O-ring and put it in there sometime, we'll see.
These would look quite cool on the CB1100 ...

I have used early CBX mirrors for the last 20 years on my bikes , both the CB 1000's and the CB 1100 's . They are Honda mirrors , a little longer stem for a better view.
They are black and round and fit very well.
And I can attest to them being a great fit, just what is required for the too short OEM mirrors that come with the CB. These are one of the pairs that Houtman sent out to several of us. The black fits in nicely too, now a permanent feature on my bike.

Looks good 'n' clean Tev, as does the red radiator grill. Thumbs Up
