I didn't have to change / lengthen cables with 1.5" risers (SW Motech barbacks) that went up and back...it was tight getting the bar over the edge / lip of the riser, but once over then the bar settles down into the "u" shaped portion of the riser, which gives some play back to the cables. I could move bars full left/right with no restriction and no change in idle. Seemed to work fine.
