Jeepphoto,

I've owned an XR600, XR400, and an XR250. That kickstart 600 was a bi**h to kickstart when it was hot and I was in sand or on a hillside. Really heavy too. My buddies 650L with lights and an estarter was way heavier still. I traded for an XR400 and liked it a lot better, traded that for the 250 and liked it better still. The carburetors on all of them would plug up and require a rebuild every year if they weren't ridden regularly. I won't buy any more dirt or street bikes without FI. The new 250L is the ticket.

I like the 650L, but the 250L really makes more sense. Once I get the CB paid off I may have too look rear hard at the 250L. Lighter, EFI,....
If Honda would stroke the 250 out to a 300 like they did with the little CBR, I think they'd have something. The extra bottom end and mid range from a few mm addition stroke would be perfect for such a bike.
Hey, maybe they will before I pull the trigger! Unless there is some arcane reason somewhere making them keep it a 250.
I wish Honda would put a seat on this bike that I could stand for more than 10 minutes. Older dual purpose bikes came with seats that had a modicum of comfort.

My last Honda 250 DP had a seat like a wood plank.
