Looks like a Chief variation to me, just with quick detach shield and luggage.
True, but lockable bags and tubeless tires make all the difference in the world! Apparently the frame is new too. One of the complaints about the Chief is that it is less responsive than the Harley's in the handling department.
Too bad the headlight/passing lamps and turn signals are not LED.
Lovely bike, but the "360" viewer on that web site about sent me into a seizure! Who would do that??
I'm a little dizzy right now...I just went on the Indian website to check out the Springfield and to check out some of their prices for accessories! $300 for a 16" ape hanger handlebar with clutch cable and $2300 for a rear tour pack! Wow! Too rich for me!
interesting facts about the original Indian mfgr and Honda courtesy of the new Cycle World that came in today
Indian produced a total of 400,000 machines from it's beginning in 1901 until it closed it's doors in 1953
in 2014 Honda produced that same number of units every 8 1/2 days
another fun fact for me...My dads first motorcycle was an Indian Scout (against his parents wishes). He rode Indians until they closed their doors in 1953 and then he switched to Harleys. During the end of his riding career he switched to a Yamaha 350 (R5c), then series of Hondas CB 350/4, CB 200T, CB175, and CB 125, and his last bike a Moto Guzzi 125 Stornello
Pretty motorcycles. Lots of mass rolling down the road. To me the one word that describes my motorcycle ideal is nimble.
