Actually Honda had some sort of standard baby twin in the lineup a number of times in the ensuing years...the most recent of which was the Nighthawk 250

But I dont think the 250 NH has been made for years or let alone another 250 cheapo bike. Could be wrong though. Just pisses me off the Big guys have abandoned the simple market so to speak.
Well, have they? They're still making 125s and 250s, but they've made a commercial judgment that the market won't be attracted to the old CB style of bike, except perhaps in the larger capacities. Interestingly in Indonesia, Honda sell bikes called the Megapro which is 160cc and the Tiger at 200cc which hark back more to the older bikes than bikes like the Ninja 250.
Thanks for posting this info. You are obviously a talented craftsman. I am surprised you were able to acquire all the necessary parts. The fit and finish of the bike just looks superb (probably better than original).
Funny how the "tiddlers" are so popular. There's something to be said about light weight, low hp & nimble machines. It's a blast to drive. Takes me back to when I was 16
Love the '61, looks to be stock. The Thing looks modified (48 IDA's?).

During the last decade the value of 28 and .410 gauge vintage shotguns have increased a lot more than the 12 gauge guns. There is an appeal to the smaller bikes and guns as we get older. Can't tell you why but I would love to own that 175.
