Yes it has reverse. And forward assist for paddle walking in parking lot situations.

For that money though, I would get one of the BMW K1600 models. But thats just me.

Me thinks this is what BMW was after, ten years ago, with their ill-fated and unfortunate R1200CLC.

I swear we have very similar taste in bikes. I think this new Yamaha is the best-looking full-dress touring bike I've ever seen. It actually looks good from all perspectives. Great design.
Let's see.. Hydraulic valves, belt drive, air cooled, 126 lb-ft, 2750 rpm at 75 mph, heated seats and grips, 750 watt alternator, electric windscreen, 5-year warranty...
two words: Heavy, ugly
Heavy is objective and it is heavy. Ugly is subjective and, while it's not my style of bike, I think I like the looks. Will have to see it in person to be sure.
I like really like the styling from all angles.

-Air cooled V-twin with external oil tank and cooler between the forks. I wonder if there are thermostatically controlled fans integrated behind the oil cooler.
-Range: 6.6 gallon tank at 34 mpg = 224 miles. The ST has a 7.7 gallon tank w/ 45 mpg= 346 miles.
-low seat height of 27.7 inches
-20 years of refining 4 valves per cylinder, 2 spark plugs per cylinder, pent roof design vs new Milwaukee "8", lol.

I don't do 2-up riding so this bike and competitors are not on my list.
rather have an FJR any day.
huge , heavy and belt drive , nothing there i like
Don't like the cruiser leg/foot style; prefer upright like my cb1100 and your st1300. Don't let your ST1300 over hear your "Yamaha talk". Smile
I think I liked it better when it was just called a "Goldwing"
