Would like to get and RD350/400 two smoke but they have gotten pricey for anything decent.

I bought a used one in Edmonton Alberta in October of 1975. I ran that bike to Syracuse and back to Edmonton the next spring. My pack was strapped to the sissy bar. I had to unpack everything to add oil. That chain was a problem on that bike. She ran hard though. Nice bike!

Glenncal, I owned this '73 RD350 for several years and unloaded it a few years ago for $3000. It was immaculate but not terribly fun to ride. In fact, it was downright scary at 60 mph. You wouldn't believe how spoiled we've become in the past 20 years with advances in motorcycle technology (suspension, brakes, fueling, maintenance, etc.) I was glad to see it go.

Have to agree, that bike is awesome to look at, but riding it on any kind of regular basis, not so much...

My brother had an rd350 back in the 70’s. That bike scared the heck out of me.

Best way to experience that motor- since that is what that bike is all about-

Ride a Yamaha Banshee quad and hold it wide open. Especially if properly modified.

If you can't find one, try a Suzuki Quadzilla.

If you *must* have 2 wheels- track down an RZ350

lol my wife and I toured 2 up on an 73 RD 350 just like the one in the picture. Of course I weighed 128 back then and she weighed 110. I looked at and sat on an RD 350 a couple years ago. I was amazed how small it felt. Hard to believe we both fit on one at one time.

A RD 250 '74 was my first ride. I put 92,000 km on it in 5 years. Did also some holiday trips with my girl friend.

During that time I had 2 crank replacements, 3 cylinder bore oversizes and even more pistons until I found out, how to clean the carbs right and avoid those holes in the piston, caused by too lean running motor.

When I happen to see one today, it touches my heart. However, nowadays it appears like a bicycle to me...

I don't know where I came across it, but I just read an article about someone who built a flat-track racer out of a GT750 back in the 70's to compete with the factory Yamaha TZ750. It was apparently quite effective but vanished as soon as it appeared, just like the Yamaha. I don't recall who rode it.
