We bought the kid a new 883 Sportster a while back as a gift for attaining some educational milestones. Since then she's been tweaking it here and there and has done ALL of the work herself.

The sissy bar came from a custom builder here in Utah. Bought a custom heavy leather holster to hang from it and I donated the MSR bottle that fits it for her emergency reserve gas.

After that she pulled off the pipes, put aftermarket cans on it and wrapped the exhaust herself (I wasn't on board with that decision and wasn't consulted beforehand). Then she replaced the bars and rerouted the blinkers. One day she pulls up in her car and asks me if she can use the bench grinder. I said yes. I heard her grinding away and after about 20 minutes she left. She had bought the 'bolt-on' aftermarket air filter mount in the pic that didn't 'bolt-on'. Came back about an hour later and showed it to me. After that she ordered the seat in the pic and some other minor odd's and ends (like the derby cover). She's now looking at putting on white wall tires. Does all her own oil changes too.

Yeah baby! That's cool.
That is great! Self-motivated, independent and an eye for the right look. Well done Dad.
That's good looking work on the Sportster. Love to see young folks doing projects like this on their own. You must be very proud of her.
I agree with LongRanger..very cool..that she rides, that she wrenches.
Nice! Strong independent young woman. GoldOxide is correct, well done!
She's done a great job with the bike. I take it you're not surprised, either by her skill or her enterprise?
so do you worry about her when she's out riding like I worry about my son (who is 40 and a better rider than I am) ?
Well educated [/align]Clap Biker
That is a handsome steed she's got going there. Love to see it with the white walls. Well done!
