Not really a fan of the restyled Rebel. The kicked-up tank looks like it was lifted from another bike to me. The last model ran for way too long, so I guess any change is good change to some degree.
If I were a 16-sumthin' snot-nose today with constrained income, I would consider the late generation Rebel like this. I remember when the first-gen Rebel came out. Fortunately, these are much better.
they're actually slammin' good commuter bikes. that 500 twin is rock solid and has been used in so many platforms at this point its bullet proof, the gas mileage and overall weight is great. the ergos are beginner-centric. it's capable of mounting storage options. the insurance is dirt cheap. My wife nearly got one of these instead of her Triumph, but decided to go big or go home. Considering you can get a late model rebel 5 for around 5k even when they're on liquidation, there's literally no better bike you can buy for 5k. Honda does it again with the perfect everyman bike.
There is one local near my work that i see almost daily. It has a unique sound, not sure if it's stock or not. I can't get down with the tank either. Reminds me of the 90's to 2000ish Suzuki Intruder. Just strange lines.
