The only car Wankel I remember were German NSU and Mazda

The 1974 Chevy Vega had a target Wankel engine option.

The 1975 AMC Pacer also had a target Wankel engine option too.

Innovative engine design for North American cars was really dismal throughout the 70's. Heck, maybe not limited to the 70's.

Yeah, Pacer and Vega did not deserve any further contribution into their development...and Pinto could join them as well

The Pinto and Vega are by many consider cultural classics today. Not sure about the Pacer, maybe with woodgrain side panel finishes.

The Vega can be configured particularly mean, somewhat like the CB1100.
