Hi Guys,
I had a good day of hard riding for a few hours and noticed just a little bit of oil around the oil cap w/ a tiny air bubble. It was tight w/ the black rubber gasket, but seems somehow a little pushed through. Any thoughts? I'm now at 2,000 miles and looking soon at another oil change to a synthetic or blend. It broke in nice and seemed to loosen up w/ smooth torque all the way to 7000 rpm. I'm not going into the red but I'll keep it between 5-6 in that sweet zone of torquey bliss.

I'd say gasket needs replaced if oil cap is seating flush.

Makes sense Fuzzy. I didn't want to be worried by running in the higher rpm range. That's the beauty if this bike. Take it lite or keep it punchy. I'm sure this engine can handle it. Oh and the level was at top mark in the window. Wouldn't think that rubber gasket could go bad so soon. Another question..if I go with a synthetic should I stay with 1030 or 1040 or go blend. Brand preference? I'm thinking this because I have been pushing this baby.

Just make sure fill plug is square to housing. If so, gotta be gasket. They probably made 10,000 gaskets that day with 1 off spec, yours. If not overfilled you can run it hard with no problems @ all. I would run Honda full synthetic 10/30 where you are. I'm running Honda blend on first change then going full synthetic after that. Let me know what you find on seepage.
I'm getting a little seepage as well, but nothing to write home about. It showed up as a dribble down the side cover, but it was not wet oil when I did the change today so I just cleaned it up and made sure to clean the seating area for the o-ring and put the cap back on after I refilled the bike.
This is my 3rd oil change and I'm a tick over 7500 miles.
If you tighten a oring too tight it will wrinkle up under the cap and leak
A new o-ring should fix. Just lube it before you put it on the cap. A little WD-40 should be fine
So I cleaned up the area and made sure the ring was seated properly and gave it a not too snug fit and she held up fine w/ no visible signs of oil. Getting a lot of looks and compliments. A cute little old lady came out of a restaurant as I was pulling in and said "that's a nice bike sonny". I think she was trying to pick me up
