After trying different bags for just day rides/trips I bought the Aerostich Tank Panniers some years ago and really like them . They have two different sizes ( 8.8 litre each side or 6.6 litre each side ) I bought the bigger ones in black , also available in Hi-Viz. They are very easy to attach , rest on the rear of your seat and one set of clips is on the passenger foot peg and the other one onto the rear rack . As I have multiple bikes they are easy to move from one bike to another. Price is about $ 180 a set.



These bags are great for day trips/rides . They are the Aerostich Tank Panniers , available in black or Hi-Viz , two sizes 6.6 litre each or 8.8 litre each Price about $ 180 a set . One set of clips is on the passenger foot bracket and the other one on the rack. As I use them on different CB 1100 they are very easy to put on an other bike.

To add to that, UK based owners with pannier rails may find the £58 LOMO "13 litre Medium Adventure Panniers" ideal. I fancy trying a pair when they are back in stock as it looks like they may be usable without relocating the indicators. I have few LOMO pieces and can't fault the quality for the bargain prices.

That site seems to have nice panniers as well , I did NOT have to remove the rear indicators which was a big plus for me. I am not very agile at my age and find top boxes or higher bags more difficult to get on the bike.

I might have to pick those up, they don't require a bracket to keep them from interfering with the shocks of anything?

No , they do not need any brackets at all , well made and very easy to use.

Inspect how the bags hang as a buddy had something similar on his Moto Guzzi Norge (not sure why he didn't have his hard bags but there you go) and they swung in and rubbed against the tire ruining them. Now the Norge does not have twin shocks so having those is a big help.

These bags do NOT rub at all on the twin shock CB 1100 , I used them for about 5 years now and they still look perfect. On a mono shock bike it could be a problem.
