2013 Honda Cb1100
I need some advice...
Had an accident where the bike fell - the black plastic housing cracked that holds the tachometer.
Any advice on how to fix this?
Should I take it to Honda? The bike is past warranty so I would be paying out of pocket for labor.
Can I order a new one and put it on myself? If so, what part will I need to order?
Will I have to replace the entire tachometer and speedometer (The still work perfectly) or can I just order the plastic housing.
Thank you.
You can definitely replace just the housing. I dropped my bike and cracked it the same way. If the instruments are working, then that is all that needs to be done. However, I had other work done on my bike at the same time, so I don't know how the installation works or how much Honda would charge. My guess is, though, that's a very easy job. I'm sure others can chime in with information on the relative difficulty.
Good Luck.

This would not have been covered by the warranty anyhow.

Just enter the serial no of your bike, to search for your needed parts.
I guess, you want part 10 at this drawing: http://www.bike-parts-honda.com/pieces-h...0+ABS.html
Just note down the reference no of it and ask your local Honda supplier to get it.
Then replace it or find someone to do this for you.
Thank you Very much for this information !!

Thank you
or you could order the chrome speedo and tach covers from the Accessories Catalog. they just slip over the originals and cover them completely.
I don't think the covers will cover the damage he has..at least from what I can tell in his pic. Maybe if he compresses some of the shards?
Besides you want to replace the cover so you have a water tight seal on the electronics. The last thing you want is for water to get in there.
I cracked my speedometer housing when I fell over in the yard from braking in damp grass. I applied some JB Weld 5 min epoxy to the crack and then pulled it tight with black electrical tape. After the glue set the fix was pretty tight. Then I installed the chrome covers. As mentioned earlier, I wanted to make sure I had a water tight seal before I covered it in chrome.
Other than the cover, looks like your bike is in pretty good shape. Mine was the same, only damage was the cracked cover. I would have thought I'd bent a handle bar, turn signal or something.
