That's what I keep hearing. The N1k can be a bit vibey for around the town riding, but I haven't had any issues with my hands going numb. It does seem happiest around 85-90 mph indicated, though. It's smooth as glass then. I test rode a SFV650 last weekend, and it's V-twin felt fine as well.

Nine times out of ten I would find chaffing conditions in the engine compartment. Check your bike out to assure there is no metal on metal contact anyplace. I have an FJR and installed engine guards with highway pegs, at installation I didn't catch the peg bracket was chaffing some plastic.................at certain speeds I would get a minor buzzing sensation...........repositioning the bracket cleared it.
CB,

Thanks for your response. I have not added much in the way of mods to the bike. I did take the shield off last week to see if there may be some buffeting going on but the bike actual felt a bit better at speed with it on.

There was a post i responded to (can't remember the thread) where a member said his older CB750 felt less vibs then our bikes. I responded that my GS1100 is much smoother at highway speeds than the CB.

When I first bought the bike last year, I had planned on putting a LOT of miles on it.. but I'm just taking it in this morning for the 8k service (they threw in a prepaid maint plan, 2 years unlimited miles, everything covered but tires and brake pads).

Unfortunately, my hands go completely numb in about 45 minutes on the backroads or highway, or in about 20 minutes with city riding. It doesn't seem to come through the tank or pegs much, just the bars. I've tried re-positioning the bars, making sure the dampers and bars were set up properly, and new bar end weights - none have helped much.

I actually bought a N1k about 2 months ago as well, spectacular bike but a bit too much to trust myself with on my daily commute. I work nights, and the stock lights were absolutely terrible. Even replaced, it's way too easy to ride too fast for them.

My hands never feel that bad even after a tank of riding. Riding my GSXR750 would give me pins and needles after 100 miles.

The N1K is a great bike. I found it to be smooth and has a great gearbox. A little more aggressive position than my XX, the faster you go the smoother and more comfortable it gets.

Sometimes the bike is very low on vibs in the tank, pegs and bars and there are other times when this bikes has much more noise. Throttle response is spot on regardless of this but i can't figure out what causes the excessive vibration at times. The vibs are never in the seat and when you pull in the clutch its smooth as glass so its the motor. Its never to the point that you think there's a problem with the motor just annoying as heck. Amazing how it can go from smooth to buzzy just stopping for gas.
Its done this from when it was new with no mods.

Edit: A buddy of mine just bought a Ninja 1000 and we switched bikes yesterday for awhile, he thought the CB handled great in comparison to the older CB's but asked if its always a bit buzzy, i told him ride it tomorrow and it may be gone Smile
Mine never changes from ride to ride, or stop to stop. It is always the same, but is greatly different depending upon RPM range. 3,250 and below is very smooth, while 3,250 to 4,500 is very buzzy, while higher RPM's start to smooth back out.

D,

Mine is in the same area, flattens out over 5K, but as mentioned it changes from time to time.
That's very odd!
No such issues with my CB. It's the smoothest bike I've ever owned.

Rocky,

If my memory serves correctly they made some changes to the lobes on the cam on the 2014 to smooth things out.

I'm glad that I waited and bought a 2014 CB11.Most complaints about the motor that I've read are from the 2013.I don't mind the smaller fuel tank as I don't ride as far as frequently. No brick walls either. She charges as far and as fast as I want. Got that Diggy boy?

You need to post outside of the QUOTE boxes. Its really hard to tell what you are replying sometimes.
Sorry....Always thinking and talking outside the box.
