Thumbs Up Clap Worship

Congrats of a major order. That's awesome!

Did you find a good route through RI, Conn, NJ and Delaware? One that wasn't a royal pain? (4 that I still need)
Left Virginia for home today but had to walk through Arlington National Cemetery first this Sunday morning. Not sure what to say … a lot of our ancestors (old and recent) sacrificed there lives for the ideals of our country and for the love of their families. Hard to comprehend the reality of this for me. All I can think of is to say Thank You ; did say a prayer, while at the cemetery, for all these people who made the ultimate sacrifice for USA/me. Fair play to you bflint for thinking of those who made that sacrifice. It is sad to see the US flag disrespected so much in the USA today and the total disconnect of large swathes of US society from those that went before them. Not a uniquely US phenomenon I know.
I haven't been to Arlington in quite some time now. It is a strong memorial.

= = =

Nice West Virginia sign. Looks new. No little holes or dents.
Interesting historical factoid is that Arlington cemetery was built during the US Civil War on the grounds of Confederate General Robert E. Lee's wife's family home, largely as a gesture of insult to him personally. The US government confiscated the property by means of refusing Mrs. Lee's agent delivering the property taxes due and subsequently purchasing the "delinquent" property. The Lee heirs subsequently sued, successfully, that the property had been confiscated without due process and it was returned to them. The heirs later sold it back to the federal government at fair market value.

Fascinating story and a testament to the Government and Judiciary separation of powers.
BFlint checkin in; will post final trip stuff soon & answer your questions previously posted in this thread. The many days of long exposure to sun, rain, humidity, heat, etc finally got to me and I had to check in to a Kingman AZ motel at 2pm and crash on the bed, clothes/boots and all. WOW ... never thought it was possible to actually run out of gas so-to-speak. Made it home next day Thu 7/28. More wrap-up to come. Smile
Lol been there!
Nicely done! Can't wait for the wrap-up!
