Spotted a review in BMWMOA magazine (used to ride one) awhile ago and after digging up the article I went ahead and ordered one just because I'm lazy and make a mess when I spray lube all over the chain and rear sprocket.

Basically a hard nylon-type plastic block that routes the spray lube onto the chain sideplates. Sure you could cobble up your own, but remember I'm lazy and it doesn't cost too much (compared to things like Ohlins or farkles from those vendors in Japan).
