Not sure. I'd have to do some reading in the service manual. However, if the pulses aren't consistent the ABS will call a fault, or in one members case the speedometer was wonky (slightly bent rear ring).
Once the ring is replaced and the gap correct, the fault will most likely clear itself.

You are correct sir! 30 minutes, new front pulser ring, and no more flashy flashy!

Just as an update on my own situation. I cleaned my calipers thoroughly and since switching to the EBC HH sintered front pads, using a liberal amount of brake-quiet (basically just silicone lube AFAIK?) on the pads I haven't had any issues with the ABS. I still have some front brake squealing, but it's not leading to failure in the ABS at least. I did 20,000 miles on the CB last year so it's working out, whatever problems I had for a bit when the bike was new seem to have just disappeared, I didn't replace anything.
