Temps finally edged above 50 here yesterday. Had a chance to ride my 2014 CB that's been sitting dormant in the garage for a few weeks. I can sum it up in one word...WOW! Could not believe how smooth, powerful, and quiet it was. Had to pinch myself that I finally got to own one of these.
Some other notes...
Some water drained from underneath right after the bike started. Crankcase breather?
Checked the oil first. Miss the old dipstick, but I'll get used to the sight glass.
The brake light blinks several times before being on solid...assume that is not stock, and previous owner added a device to cause this.
Will definitely need a set of handlebar risers, and a set of Grip Puppies.
Bike came with a windshield. I removed it for the first ride, but may keep it on. It's a National Cycle Street Shield EX. Went without a shield on my last bike ('79 CB750) because none of them looked right. Had shields on every other bike previously.
Almost 71 now. Wish I got one earlier!

Happy you like it, yes the flasher for the brake lights is an aftermarket unit. I see them alot on sport bikes and Subaru WRX, its supposed to catch the people behind you attention better. I actually like it when I'm riding behind other motorcycles that have it. Even riding into the sun I can see if they are hitting their brakes for any reason.

I bought my '14 new and it was WOW right from the start.

Happy to see that another ol' CB has found a loving owner. Of course there is regular turn over, buying and selling and buying again of older CB1100/s, like seen in all other m/c models. Few owners care for what they ride, as long as a new toy comes along every other year. But finally all CBs find sticky fingers, an owner who really cares, and is in for keeps. You do now own a motorcycle which will keep it's price and value for the next 10 years, may be 20 ... like a 30 years old Ferrari. Only the "end of all fuels" could spell her end. And that won't happy anytime soon.

The water was condensation blowing out the seep hole on the bottom of the pipe. if you run your finger down there you can feel the hole.

Which flavor did you get again? I forget.

Water may be from the exhaust. It's a by product of ICE and for shorter rides the exhaust does not get warm enough to evaporate it.

It's a very nice bike for sure. Ride it in good health!

Yea, thought about the water drip after and realized it might have been from the exhaust. I always sprayed a little oil into the muffler end before winter storage to prevent corrosion.
This will be my last bike (especially at my age!). Don't need new toys every few years...except perhaps a guitar. Had a 1981 CB750 for over 30 years.
Weather forecast is 50's and 60' for the weekend....Can't wait!

Oil in the muffler sounds like a horrible idea for many reasons.

#1- they are stainless, so should never rot out.

#2- oil in the packing will ruin it

#3- if the oil gets on the O2 sensor, you will be buying a new one.
