Hey Mr. Tim,

Excellent timing. I was about to post a one year update to this thread, so I'll kill two birds with one stone.

This battery doesn't get noticeably hot under normal operation. I just went out and felt it after a half hour ride and it didn't feel any warmer than ambient temperature.

That said, there's not much to report after a year of usage. As posted previously, I killed it last November and it recharged without any issues. I also found that in temps around 30F and below, it helps to turn the key and let the battery warm for about 15 seconds before cranking. It would still crank up without the warm up, but the cranking speed was a tiny bit slower. Also no issues cranking in the summer at temps over 110F.

Overall, it has performed flawlessly for the first year. Periodic checks of the resting voltage are the same as when it was new. In a nutshell, so far, so good.

That's spot on Inhouse Bob! I can't help but feel ashamed whenever I purchase M&M's so I feel the need to hide them.

I installed one of these too, it was a bit tougher than I expected. Does anyone else have a problem with the bracket for the screw for the hole in the underseat storage coming lose? For me it comes out almost every time and I am considering not worrying about even attaching this piece in the future.
(Picture of the scree I'm talking about is attached, oops can't actually find a way to attach a picture, I think you guys know what I'm talking about though, its what secures the box to the bike)

Its held in with that screw and that PIA plastic rivet. Never had anything come loose though.

Ok, thanks, but it seems pretty clear y'all know what I'm talking about. Popgun, so next time that bracket falls out from under the bike, can I just go ahead and ignore it, knowing that the plastic bin under the seat isn't going anywhere anyway? Every time I gotta take a few minutes to get that bracket back to where it was, not sure if it's worth it.

I was talking about the plastic box in my above post, but I'll take a look at the parts fische on-line and pull my tool box out and see if I can get a better idea of the problem you are having.

Yours is the first complaint of this that I've seen on the board here.
