I found chapmoto has the Bridgestone bt46 that has both 110-80-18 and 150-70-18 sizes. Anyone try this tire?

Actually there was an EX model with spokes as of '14 in most markets around the world, except for the US. So, yes, the '17 EX is the only CB with tube tires in the US, but not elsewhere.

The EX with spokes must run a tube tire unless you seal off the spokes inside the rim. This is what makes buying tires a pain. Your 2014 must be an DLX since 2017 was the first year for the EX I believe.

Actually, I am in Europe where there was an EX with spoke wheels in 2014. The DLX was in the US.

Did you run a rim sealer on your spoked wheels or are your spoked rims holding air?
You know, Europe got all the different models (good) from Honda, and we hardly got squat from them here in the States. I was thinking it must be a backlash or punishment from Honda for being Harley land. We did not even get all the cool colors you guys got, and we did not even get a chance at the RS. Honda has done little, in my opinion, to honor loyalty amongst American Honda riders. The new CB1000R is never going in my garage. The Kawasaki Z900RS may not be a true 'Retro' like our CB1100 is, but is sure looks a lot better in my garage than the CB1000R. I have had the Out Ex product on my watch list on Ebay for a year now, just about ready to order the kit for the back tire and do it first.
Your bike is really sharp looking, even your engine is not that ugly half black like ours is.

I have been running the Metzeler Z8 tubeless tires with tubes in them with no problem. I never wanted to go with the sealing solution, and after some 20k km with tubes in a tubeless tire I can confirm that it works fine.

As spechg mentions I went with a tubeless conversion so I could repair a puncture roadside myself. But Bridgestone Technical Services did answer my query to see if a T31 tyre was supported with an inner tube and they said it was.

I’m running tubes in the tubeless radials on my R1200R (spokes). No issues.

Even with sealed spokes, I'm not sure I'd trust the rim of a spoked wheel to properly retain a tubeless tire. I think tubes inside tubeless sounds like the safest alternative. Maybe make sure the tire and tube are nicely dusted with talcum powder to reduce friction.

how many km have you done in this config (tubeless tire and tube) since 2014 ?

It has become a widely accepted practice to seal spoked wheels and use tubeless tyres if the rims are MT-type (as opposed to the WM-Type). If these solutions were dangerous the Japanese firm Outex would of been sued a hundred times over by now with product liability cases. If there was a dangerous failure problem with this solution it would be all over every motorcycling forum. The BartFactory company I had my conversion with support this solution on hundreds of bikes from every manufacturer you can think of including heavyweight Harleys, BMW, Indians, Ducati, Triumph, Honda and Kawasaki just to name a handful. I would have no problem recommending this solution. I now just carry a small plug kit and could sort myself out for all but the worst of punctures. I really don't want to be waiting for a tow truck or be removing my wheels by the roadside fixing a puncture.
