put the new wheel and new pads on the bike. went with same (old) seal for the one piston that I inadvertently popped out, since it was just one... bled the lines and went out and bedded the pads. couple times around the block then, for a test run, and all went smooth. feels like new, as it should. Thanks all for your input!
Good one, jimgl3.
good news indeed

so, more drama! for once I waited it out until it was resolved instead of ranting...
Dennis Kirk has the "exact match" feature, so I used it. ordered Galfer pads because I like Galfer. put them in and went on that ride I described above as all better, then soon noticed only 2/3 of the rotor was in contact with the pads!! exact match huh? well, I emailed customer service and they told me I must have ABS. No, I don't. So then they want photos. So then they say I must have DLX. No, I don't! Only when I threaten to post on multiple forums do they suddenly find EBS pads to fit and thankfully, they ship them immediately and allow me to return the Galfer pads after I receive the EBS ones. Kudos to Dennis Kirk for finally getting it right I guess...
