Flush and bleed them as in do front and rear while at it). Heck, I, and some others, even had air in the line from the factory.

Absolutely not. Rear is not as strong as in front, but I can easily slow her down from 50 mph to a stop, just using the rear. No need to step on it hard, no sluggishness, no delays.
If my front brake lever broke on a trip, I would still feel safe and ride home with just the rear.
I hope this helps ... get it fixed, or fix it. You want this brake to work.

PS: mine is ABS, but as long as it isn’t triggered, that can not make any difference.

This is my experience too. The rear brake works fine, but of course it can't compete with the front brake and I don't expect it to.
You need it so get it repaired right away.
The rear brake is obviously designed to be anemic. However, mine seems sufficient and I can still lock up the rear wheel pretty easily. I am guessing you have severely degraded brake fluid or air in the brake line. After you check the pads, do a vacuum bleed and make sure the brake pedal doesn’t feel spongey.
