My sales man on the left... and a customer looking at my 'old' bike.
Another... with the customer...
This bike is beautiful... the color seems deeper than what I saw in Daytona. It's really not much different than the '13.
You probably can't see it... 2 miles.
I asked why 2? They said they had to ride it to do a safety check. Yeah right..my 13 had .1 miles on it.
Look at this... the '14 owners manual has the 13 on the cover. The inside does talk about the '14.
Ok, I get to the dealer about 2:30... they roll the 13 back to swap out the luggage rack... 90 minutes later... It's not working. I told them, don't force it. They were trying spacers, and other things.... YIKES. So I told them to forget it, just sell me a new one when the ones for the 14 come out at a discount and mount it free. Ok. Then they start taking off the chrome instrument covers... I wanted those too IF they'd fit. Now I bought them from fellow forumer Greg Davis a few months ago. And he installed them in 5 minutes. 30 minutes later and the dealer says... they can't make them fit since the panel is different. I said what?? Let me see... We walk back to the service area and they have the entire headlight removed and the instruments from the 13. I started laughing... wait a minute, all you do is remove the chrome cover from each instrument. So I tried to just remove it... Greg, you did a good job. They weren't coming off. So the dealer says... I'll sell you a new set for the 14 at cost. Ok... then he pays me cash for what I paid for the old. So that's my story... then when I got to leave around 5:15, I noticed there was no pigtail and they had scratched the right side grab bar. So back inside for a pigtail and for another 'we owe' certificate for the grab bar. What a day!
The bike rides like a dream. I only got to ride it the 20 miles home. And oh yeah, it was also out of gas... they forgot to fill it up. Not that big a deal but...
I really didn't get it into 6th but noticed that 5th gear feels exactly like 5th in the 13.
The seat definitely is softer and the bike sits higher. I like that...it's not as compressed. The instrument panel is nice but the buttons for trip a, trip b, and remaining fuel, etc might be a bit confusing. I agree that the turn signal is lower but I think I'll like that once I get used to the placement.
The paint is gorgeous...seems very similar to our 13's.
Other than that she rides and sounds much like the 13's. However she is much harder to get up on the center stand...it's not as easy as before. I can't believe 30 pounds is doing that.
As I said, an interesting day. I'll post more info over the next few weeks as I get to know her a bit better.

I've noticed on Honda's website the '13 and '14 are both called Candy Red?
Congrats Ride4Now!!
That would be technically correct, but Honda has half a dozen different shades of "Candy Red". Specifically the '13 is Candy Glory Red and the '14 DLX is Candy Alizarin Red. They're very similar. If you look at ride4now's 5th pic (side by side) you can just barely make out the difference.
Congrats, ride4now! She sure is a beauty.

Colour codes are the definitive answer. On my '10 found under the seat on the frame, left side. From memory I think mine is R 103. It's what I believe is Candy Glory Red.
Cheers.

Very nice, enjoy the new bike. I like the looks of the 14, the down pipes look better, rims, engine, side covers. With the side by side comparison i did notice the tank on the 13 is narrower at the knees and the seat i bit wider.

Here's the color code under the seat of my 14 DLX...
![[Image: 3495290c986a3cbfe7873a8650e44d09.jpg]](https://cb1100forum.net/forum/uploads/imp/201404/3495290c986a3cbfe7873a8650e44d09.jpg)
It is VERY close to my 13...but most likely not an exact match.
I've been thinking about that 14 I saw in Daytona last month. I tried to find the vin
number on it. And I couldn't find it...I don't think it had one. I wonder if that could've been a prototype or something like that? The color was definitely not the same as the ones were getting now.

So who can confirm the paint code off of their '13?
