Honda did the black but did not black out forks and especially the motor. Honda wake up Blacked out is hot!

You're right. Fer'instance, Harley has done quite well with their Dark Custom line of bikes. And Clairol's "Dark 'n Lovely hair care and coloring product line has been a smash hit in the Ethnic section of your local retailer since it was introduced.

I suspect Honda blacked-out the parts of the bike that didn't cost a lot to do. A decent coating on the forks that would hold up was probably too expensive to fdo.

It's a fad, chrome is timeless :-)
