The worst I got in 7000 miles was on my second tank, and that was 48. The most was 56.8 mph. Ave is 52. However I am not an aggressive rider. I shift at around 3750 rpms and my bike never saw over 6000 rpms.

BTW no comparo between our new 1140 and the 750 Nighthawk. The latter be a fine commuter bike and decent all-rounder but the 1140 has got some guts and heft. WAY cooler bike. I am a performance guy, love to zing the inline fours to redline and hit the track still after all these years and the CB1100 has got my attention and my vote for a long-term bike.

At 6'1" and 31" inseam, both these bikes are too small for me to sit all the way forward in the saddle and get my feet down flat on the heel rests, so I have push myself back some. I doubt I'd notice the difference that I was pushing back between the two."PostOak" eh? You from Brownwood?
I'll eventually replace my 750 with the 1100, but YOUR NH is so nice, I wouldn't. You have those nice aftermarket items on there and you won't get anything for them on either the used market or on a dealer trade-in. And you've got the horsepower up to about the same as the 1100, anyway.
My NH 750 gives:
4000 rpm - 57 mph / 91 kpm
5000 rpm - 72 mph / 115 kpm
6000 rpm - 85 mph / 136 kpm

I put about 125 on it today and when I got home I thought to myself I like this thing more and more every time I ride it. What scares me is how I would like a CB11 if I ever rode one.
I did put a 16 tooth on mine and at 4500 which is where I tend to keep it on the parkways and interstates I am at about 71-72-73 mph give or take. It pulls it just fine. I can tell there is some slight loss of acceleration but its minimal and suits my riding style better.
For the money a NH is a bargain hard to beat. For all out best standard ever the 1100 cant be beat in my opinion. I am very very happy with my NH but in the very back of my mind is an 1100 lurking. The one thing about the 11 I so wish I had was fuel injection. My carbs work great. Starts good, runs good, idles good, but can be a bit tricky to start when its between hot and cold. That is life with carbs even when they are dialed in almost perfectly and mine are I think. A little more power would not hurt either even though the 750 hauls pretty darn good.
All of the things that the 11 is better at adds up but it adds up to a bigger price tag too. If I could afford one I would probably trade up but there is nothing wrong with a NH750. Its the next best thing imo to the 11.
Over the summer I had a couple of road trips scheduled (400 mi. and 800 mi.) right about the time the CB11 wore out its front tire. I didn't have time to mount a new tire, so I just took the old Nighthawk. Never gave it a second thought. I consider both bikes to be extremely reliable and wouldn't hesitate to take either one on a long road trip.
