MG.... your last tank was 50.9 mpg (50.8883 actually) 183 divided by fuel used 3.6 gals...So, you should be able to go over 180 before pushing (182.999 actually)

The hardest part about using the fuel available in your tank is that daggone flashing light that comes on at 130 miles and scares the bejeebers out of you for 30, 40, 50 miles all the while you are expecting you will run out of gas.

I was so delighted on picking the thing up...one thing I didn't notice.

It doesn't have ABS. This is something I should have been looking for; ever since my R1200GS, where ABS saved me when a deer jumped out on a damp road...I swore I'd never be without it.

My Burgman has it, although I know that the Japanese ABS of those years (2007) wasn't as refined as the system BMW was using later. Even MORE crude, the alleged ABS on my 1999 BMW...actually has a mechanical pump; and it's noisy.

But it's there and has a self-test.

This one does not. The skinny tires, every reviewer comments, aid handling (and I'd agree with that) but they're not the best for a panic stop.

I done what I done and it was never presented as having it; so I can't call foul. But I hope this isn't something that makes a huge difference in life later down the road...

FWIW...it's the "standard" model; blacked-out engine. Which would look kewel if the rest of the bike wasn't black. As the years progress, I may have the tank and side panels painted. Maybe, RED.

Short time owner, but already got it figured out!

Finally got it all in front of a camera...bike, time, camera and a battery that wasn't dead...



The original plan today was for a business-related ride up to Helena, Montana. That was can-X'd...would have been cold but great photography potential. Instead I busied myself around town, and left the day-trip bag at home. No shots of the peaks outside my home village, or my Japanese road-warrior let-loose on Montana's Wild West.

Looks great JPT. Funny how one never tires of looking at this bike.

It's a smooth ride, I'm still getting used to some slight in line 4 buzziness, my triumph scrambler is smoother, but not as quick, almost tho. That's my only complaint everything else is perfect

The buzziness puzzles me.

If you hold the engine speed between 2000 and 3000 rpm...the ride is fine. In 6th gear, that translates to 60 mph. Nice, fine cruise ride.

FASTER than that, and out here our speed limits are 75 mph...it does get buzzy. My concerns, aside from comfort, are that I'm not lugging it too much at the lower RPMs like that.

First inline 4, or have you had others? All my previous bikes have been variations on singles and twins. When I got my CB, I was likewise surprised at the "buzziness" that everyone else deems to be smooth. Very different than the hammer thumps I was accustomed to, but even miles later I am still not inclined to call it smooth. You do learn to appreciate it though!
