E.g. for the CB1100, according to this forum the CB1100 has the following problems:

Did not come with RLETS.
Needed a 6th gear.
Buzzes
No horsepower.
No speed.
Speed limited.
No 2015 model.

Gee, all those are show stoppers to me. Angel

Some problems are worth putting up with, others, not so much.

Then I genuinely believe you need a super sports that solve all those issues you've pointed out...Cool
BMW prices are surely keeping me away from the brand. The first 800ccs, the F700GS, and the F800R are already at $10K, then the F800GS, and the F800GT jump to $12K, and it's up from there, unless you want the 650cc. The R1200R is $14K, and the CB's competitor, the R NINE T is $15K! Granted is 110hp, but still! I love BMW, but they are out of my price range, especially if they are not as reliable as the price would lead you to think they should be. But I guess if money is no issue who cares. If money were no issue for me I'd get one, because they are cool, and fun to ride

I bought a Griso. Big Grin
BMW has had so many quality problems lately that I am in the majority when I say I wouldn't own a BMW that wasn't under warranty. ( Strangely, or maybe not, people are saying the same about BMW cars. ) $4000 for a clutch job or $2000 for a final drive is even scaring people away from the used market. And with their M/C prices, I'm not going to own a new one under warranty. And I've owned many BMWs in the past.
I should not really post again but just had to say that when I got ready to retire I really started out with the idea that I would buy a
used BMW sport tour bike. Retro bikes were not in my radar. I really
like that type of bike but know I would not have the funds to buy new, then I saw the CB1100 . I changed my mind about retro bikes
pretty fast after I sat on one.
