I'm a daily commuter and I'm committed to riding regardless of the weather with the exception of mega-storms.

How does the CB perform in the rain? Anything I should be aware of? It seemed to do well yesterday in the rain. My rainy ride MO is to reduce my speed and increase the distance between me and the vehicle ahead.
It goes fine in the rain, although all bikes become more treacherous in the wet. With that in mind, your MO sounds fine to me.

Oh, and too much humidity may give you some rust problems.
youre Mo is spot on. Any bike would be good in any kind of weather just as long as it is in good running order. One thing that I could think off is just to clean the Chain after a rainy ride, those water and grit from the road could do harm on our chains if we neglect it.. Happy Times!
Immgunn- I can't make out the writing on the paper plate. Which dealer did you purchase from? Fair treatment?
Looks like it says CycleSports
She looks sexy all wet like that !!
Well, not to wax too technical here, but riding in the rain has at least one further advantage for air-cooled engines like ours. The wet droplets of water all over the engine fins, not to mention oil cooler and header pipes, will dissipate the engine heat more quickly and thereby keep things running cooler, especially if one is already traveling slower due to the wet road conditions in the first place...!

Always a silver lining to every dark, dripping cloud! Dodgy
fritz
Get a set of PR3s they are awesome in the rain.
ACF-50 is your friend! Before any of that pretty chrome, nuts and bolts or frame show any signs of corrosion wash and dry her well. Apply a quaility wax to all painted and chrome surfaces (especially underneath the chrome fenders) and then heat a bottle of ACF-50 in hot (not boiling!) water and spray your entire bike down with this product!
Be sure to AVOID your tires and ANYTHING related to your brakes!
Wipe down all of the non-metal parts (i.e. instruments, controls, saddle) with Sunbrella 303 UV guard to keep your black parts black and not gray.

Repeat every 4-6 months and your bike will be rust free and looking new in 10 years!
I commute year-round on my CB1100. Here in Portland, Oregon that means quite a bit of riding in the rain. Smooth and steady is how I try to go about things when riding in such conditions. The flat torque-curve generated by the CB1100 on the dyno charts makes it easy to smoothly apply power under all conditions. But it is especially appreciated when the streets are wet.
