Just an FYI for forum members: The topic of motorcycle lifts has been discussed on this forum previously. I am posting this notice to let you know that Harbor Freight has a $100.00 discount "Super Coupon" for their 1,000 lb motorcycle lift; discounted price is $499.99. I would get this myself, but I do not have room to store it.
I've owned one of these HF lifts since 2013 and had bikes up to 800lbs on it. Still works great.
Recall a bike lift? WTF, how are you supposed to get it back to the store, or will HF come and get it, fix it, then bring it back to you? The tubing or the welds may break? Again, WTF? Poor quality build, or simple design error, was under-built? If I had a welding machine, I'd fix my own, if I had a lift. I know how to weld, but don't have a machine. I wonder if a bronze braze would work? Seems like HF would have spotted this before now. I worked as a fabricator, doing X-ray quality work, for some years, and I can't stop myself when I see welding work, I inspect it. Much of it fails. After I transitioned into technical documentation, I saw a lot of crappy welding work come out of China, and always drew it to the attention of the QA department of wherever I was working. In any instance of risk of injury or death, such as safety equipment, the company always complained to the provider.
Yikes! That is one heck of a recall.
I wonder if it will be fixed or "exchanged"?
It says HF will offer a refund in the form of a gift card.

That is quite good, and so long there is a fair expiry condition.

Now I cant even copy and paste. It’s getting worse.
The recall is for this type of lift. I've had one before and found it sketchy and wobbly for any bike over 400 pounds, although it was rated for 1100 pounds. I sold it soon after getting it. It's only benefit was that it could be lowered fully and a car parked over most of it.
