I'm torn. You know my story, my son expressing a desire to own a CB, me finding him one, thinking I'd get one too and we'd ride together like we used to.
Now - him wanting a Gixxer and me ending up with his CB by default.
Granted, it's modded the way I wanted to do mine up, I was using it as a test vehicle. I figured I could just switch most of the goodies over to my bike when I got it and put his back to stock. So what's the conundrum you ask? Seems to have worked out pretty well?
The conundrum is - I always wanted mine to be the BLACK version!!!
I love the red and all, but when I saw the black ones at the rally, it really got me going again.......
It's probably going to be like trying to find a needle in a haystack, but I really want to find one. A '14 preferably, with ABS. I'm heading over to the classifieds..... I need help. Or therapy. On second thought, screw the therapy. A black CB would be therapy enough. Any help finding one is appreciated.

[ Just an FYI, I edited out the censored language in the title and body of my post. I would never use the words "doggone, darn, dang" etc. Thanks for trying though Wink ]
None of the 14's in black have ABS, only the DLX has it. The 13's could be had either way, but there was no DLX sooo.....

I just made it all that much harder, didn't I.

You're welcome. Tongue
Thanks Randy, this is getting harder all the time. Seminole Power Sports near me has 2 new black 14's. One set up, the other still in the crate. They're advertising $7,999. I'd rather find a low mile used though.
Perhaps the answer is to order a black tank and side panels from Samurider, keep the bike, and switch back and forth as the spirits move you.
Capo that doesn't help him with the silver engine. It would cost a TON to make his engine black like the '14 standards due to having to paint the engine and then change all of the bare engine caps to black. Those are anodized I believe so painting them would not look right.
MG check out my post with the wrecked bikes. I was thinking that if you REALLY wanted ABS on a 14 black bike, then maybe pickin up a wrecked one and transplanting the parts would be your answer. You could pick one up and sell off what you don't want to keep and junk the rest.
Just a thought.
I just bought a 2014 base model in black. I would rather have the candy red, but not to be in the base black. If I were you I'd just try to be happy with red, seems like a great color.

Trade yours for 5500 and add 2500 and you have a new bike and the color you want.

Edit: Its easy spending other peoples moneyTongue
Heart Those don't have abs. it's saved my butt a couple three times on the red one. I'd really rather buy used '13 anyway, have no idea how much more they'd add on $$. Tried to buy from them in the past and they were pretty inflexible.

How long you been riding the kids bike? Seems like you're due to sign on the dotted line for one in your name? No offence intended....wish I had the same agreement.
I've ended up with the kids CB. I'd take the pipe, bars, shocks, cafe seat, fender etc. off it, put it back to stock, sell it, and put all that stuff on a black one.
