I'm assuming that the turn signals on the 2014 are NOT self-canceling, haven't heard otherwise. That's probably the only feature I miss on my 2013 that I had on some other bikes...
no self cancelling turn signals on the 14
I had always intended to get a self-cancelling signal lights "gizmo" for my 919, but never got around to it.
If and when such a unit becomes available for the CB I may spend the bucks - which is/was around $100.00 US I believe - but I haven't researched it lately.

Should really be standard equipment on all bikes, hate when my buddy gives me the open closed hand sign
it's not much of a problem on the 14. with the turn signal switch now below the horn button, I find myself hitting the horn rather than signaling a turn more often than not now Angry
Go for a 13 all decked out from the classified section. You can't go wrong. Beer
My st signals don't have them either. My old 78 750 has a loud beeper from the factory. You want for get to turn off. Lol. I might add the beeper to my CB

I would not be sold on the bigger tank, seat or new gauges, i like the gauges on the 2013 better. I'm also not an ABS guy and wish they gave you the option for non ABS. If i had not bought my bike last year I'd have to go with the 2014 even with the ABS, great looking bike.

Sorry guys, I'll still take the looks of the original design over the DLX. Can't warm up to the looks of the larger tank and actually prefer the smaller side panels that leave the frame exposed. Not to mention that perhaps my favorite part of the 13 model is the blacked out wheels with the polished rims.

That said, those who prefer more of a true retro look can't help but be drawn to the DLX (and of course the EX). Aside from the design aspects, the 6-speed will be nice for those who rack up the highway miles and the new data available from the instrument panel would be a nice bonus. For those that are taller, in the case of the DLX, I'm sure that sitting up a bit higher would be welcomed. If you're not drawn to the looks of one or the other, the new features of the '14 models would be nice to have.

Over time, the 13 will emerge as the original, more "iconic" model of the two, the most immediately identifiable as historically sourced. The color scheme and general layout is closest to the original.

It's also much lighter and eminently rideable, less encumbered with electronics, and does have the traditional switch gear.

As long as they both run well, it's unlikely there will be any durability or reliability benefit of one over the other, but in years to come it'll be recognized as the "original" first release of the Honda retros.

Ugh! My first bike was a '76 KZ400 and had that super loud beeper attached to the turn signals. It was embarrassing to sit at a traffic light with that thing sounding off like a garbage truck in reverse. I eventually disconnected it and didn't miss it one bit.
I did not like it back in the day but I do like it now. I'm older and now it's neat to me Smile
