Anyone else have an issue with when the Sun hits just right the digital display's visibility diminishes because of fine scratches? If so, any recommendations of resolving the issue besides only driving at night (hehe)? I'm assuming the display is plastic and not glass? -A
Plexus is what I use on mine. do not clean off the plastic with your glove or paper towel either. Soft clean cloth and Plexus, Honda Polish or plain water.
So will that stuff buff out the scratches or do I just need to accept it is what it is at this point?
You can also use Novus #2 Plastic Fine Scratch Remover. It's available at Honda shops or better yet get the complete kit (#1, #2, #3) for a lot cheaper on Ebay. Handy stuff that can be used for many different applications. This will buff out all your scratches.
Thank you!
My bike has them also. I will have to try Novus.
Hi guys...............Look, I'm just an old, experienced motorcycle rider. The latest and greatest techy stuff and I just don't click.
Having said that, the ferret and I wholeheartedly agree on this topic (sorry, Mickey Big Grin ) PLEXUS RULES! I have used it for several years now, and I have to admit that my face shields actually last longer than my helmets! Just kidding, sort of.
Since I discovered Plexus several years ago, I have yet to replace a face shield due to scratching issues. I ride in the mid-south, where bugs, bees, locusts, etc are the norm even in the daytime. I have had the same face shield for 4 years now, and after a good cleaning with Plexus the shield always turns out to be scratch-free. The product is simply amazing.
Also, with today's paints and their polymers, Plexus also works extremely well on fuel tanks, side covers, gauge faces, mirrors........
pretty much anything.
Spray on, wipe with a terrycloth towel, and you're done.
IIRC, Plexus was originally developed for fighter pilots to keep their windows/shields clean. One helluva product.b Thumbs Up
Even though the price has risen considerably the last few years, I still consider it a bargain, and I just can't imagine owning a motorcycle without this stuff.
I also use on on my Camry's headlights..................95K miles and ZERO fading or clouding. Cool
Plexus is good stuff. I use a lot of it. Besides faceshields and bike windshields I've got 8 plexi windows on my plane that need it too.

The 20+ year old windshields on my plane look pretty dull due to the tiny micro scratches from cleaning and generally being stored outside in the desert. A good rub down with some Plexus makes 'em look great.

Plexus is expensive. Since I use so much, I just buy it by the case on Amazon. Saves about 25% over the $25 / can that they want at the airport.
So what's with the high price!? $26.99 at Cycle Gear. Ya, it's great stuff, but why so pricey?
Having said that; I have a can in the garage that has lasted me years, a little goes a long way.
Inline,

Fighter pilots don't clean anything. The enlisted do. I speak from experience Big Grin
