Depends on the province.
I've seen a couple of Alberta cycles in town...with the dollar/CND exchange rates screwed up, the States are now a bargain for Canuks. Those plates were the same small size as our own.
B.C as well. Ontario...haven't seen yet. Yukon and NW Territory...who knows?

I don't think there is a "standard" size. They are not national plates; they are provincial plates.
Like each US state, our provinces have their own plate size. Some may be the same size; some may not.
In this province, plate size changed in the last 20 years. I have a couple of the old size (8"x5") and a couple of the new size (7"x4").

I wonder if the Nunavut plate is still a bear for motorcycles or just a normal square.
