Modifying one of those inexpensive (~$20) W-M motorcycle covers sounds like a good idea. If it worked, I wouldn't care too much what it looked like.
It wasn't too hard. I just bunched up the excess in a Y shape from the mirrors to the rear of the bike, pinned it and sewed t. Then cut off the excess. I couldn't seem (no pun intended) to do it inside out, like clothes, but it worked pretty good.

Maybe I'll post you a pic later, but I will have to take some abuse from Cormanus...Smile
Although my CB is always parked inside my garage when I'm not riding it, I get rid of those tank stickers ASAP so there is no color change due to sun fading as was mentioned.

I just did a Google Image search for "motorcycle cover" and found the picture I wanted to post; I didn't get it from a motorcycle product website.

A variety of half covers can be found here...
