Shawnee Honda in Shawnee, OK is listing a 0-mile 2015 STD model for $6999.00, but for local pick up only, they state they will not ship. I'm thinking it may be worth the 650-mile drive to fill out the paperwork and then trailer it home.
Has anyone dealt with them before? Am I just going to find out that the $7k price will get padded with fees? The Ebay listing doesn't specify any document fees or other dealer "prep" fees, but that doesn't mean they won't try to slip them in later.
Any ideas why they won't ship the bike if I arrange my own shipper?
First off I don't believe there is a 2015 at all 2014 yes,and if no other hidden fee's very good deal...

Have them text photo the vin to you. Easy enough to verify that it isn't a '15. Since there aren't any. No reason to tell them you're in the next state. Ask for
'final price" that includes freight, set-up and document fees. If there "are" any extra fees, it isn't that great a deal. Too many really good deals here on bikes that have been lovingly maintained and accessorized.
IMHO, of course.
I think it is showing a 2014 now. There are no 2015's
Is it black? Then it's a 2014 standard. If it's red with red mid cover it's a deluxe 2014...if it's red with silver mid cover it's a 2013...unless I'm mistaken, of course! I'm sure about the black being a 2014 standard.
Here's how you do it: Have them send you (by whatever medium that works best mutually) a "buyers order" for your review and approval.
This will list every charge, and tally all costs.
Agree to how much you're going to hold the bike with. You can do the deposit anytime you want, the sooner the better. Even though your bike has been sitting there unsold for a long time, you don't want to chance the next guy in the door is coming for your bike. It's happened!!!.
For Eric's DLX, i put $100.00 on my credit card. They agreed that if we didn't work a deal I liked, they'd refund my card.
Once you get the buyers order, if it's good, you'll sign it and get it back to them with your deposit if you haven't already sent one. You know you're good, you start your road trip. We all congratulate you!
If it's not to your satisfaction, you negotiate until you're happy or you both reach an impasse. If you don't do the deal, you get your deposit back.
Hope this helps - and - GOOD LUCK!
Oh, by the way, almost forgot - Honda does not allow their dealers to ship motorcycles to customers. It has to be picked up by the buyer at the location where it is sold.
Sorry, I meant to type 2014. I've been typing the year all day at work

I live in Norman which is about 30 miles from them but I've never heard anything bad about them.
Apparently it the rare one with the automatic transmission too
