.....strictly because I can't ride. More specifically, I can't get out of my driveway....it's 500 yards long and cut on the north slope of a forested hill, goes uphill, and even an inch of snow, even after plowing, sticks around for weeks cuz it never sees the sun. When it does melt it just turns to ice when the sun goes down....a perfect motorcycle prison.
I need to get a trailer to tow the thing up the hill or move....
Been on the bike once in 7 weeks....driving me crazy!!!!

That does not look like a good driveway design.

I live in Island Park, Idaho from June to November....lots of snow there now.....just went for a ride here in California with a guy from Sheridon, Montana...he says his ranch is covered in snow right now.....I feel for you brother.....
I thought I had it bad. My driveway is only 700 feet long but all uphill, all north facing. Two motorcycles and one 2WD S10 pickup waiting for a big melt.
How about a moto-shed at the end of the driveway?

You can be darn sure the next place I get i will carefully evaluate ACCESS to the property so this will never happen again.
As for a bike shed, the driveway terminates adjoining another driveway, when both meet at the county road. Up to that point, if you look left (north) it goes straight up and right (south) it goes straight down. Nowhere level to put anything. Like I said, a perfect design to trap those without 4 wheel drive during winter. My wife's caddy has slid back down that thing more than once when she tried to go to work. She ended up sideways and was not a happy camper lol. Now she drives a Tacoma 4x4 and all is well.
Snowing right now...but the weather forecast says next week we might get a few days well into the '40's....just might be in business! Even for a day.
I'm with you. The tires on my CB haven't touched pavement since Nov 18. I did get another bike out two weekends ago, but my road is snowed over again now. And to think I chose to move here from San Diego...

DaSwami, I've got to say your winter sounds like a motorcyclist's nightmare. I thought I had it rough when I had to ride to work at 32 degrees this morning, but at least I got to ride. Hang tough! Spring is just around the corner.
Every place has its tradeoffs. Once the cold weather has passed you surely have some awesome places to ride when the weather is nice.
While some wouldn't have it any other way, I don't really care much for heat and humidity. so I (somewhat gladly) put up with grey, damp weather for much of the year. In turn I am rewarded with a variety of fantastic scenery within a short ride in any direction not to mention fantastic summers.
But man my CB1100 could really use a good bath right about now. Just another tradeoff I suppose.
