I just got back to Indiana today after spending the last week in Paris with my wife. I saw numerous bikes over the past week and was kind of surprised at the number of Harley's. I had told my wife i couldn't believe I had not seen one CB1100 virtually all week. Then Saturday I saw a red one near the Avenue George V. I proceeded to see a black one near Notre Dame Sunday at lunch. Paris is certainly a motorcycle watching city! It was really cool seeing a black European version in person. Both bikes looked stunning in a very motorcycle heavy city. Btw I saw last Tuesday a young guy riding a very stock CB1970 I would guess it was a 70 or 71 . It looked to be wearing it's original red paint with the stock four in to four exhaust.
Once in Switzerland I came across a Moto Guzzi rider from London. He had traveled across the channel to enjoy the Alps with his wife in the sidecar. It was the first time I'd seen a sidecar rig with the hack on the left, not the right! Made sense, but I had no idea the configuration even existed.
I saw a guy this past Saturday in Paris giving rides in a Ural with a side car to people. Interesting.
My wife and I were in Copenhagen the week before Easter and I only saw 2 motorcycles the entire time we were there. There weren't a lot of cars there either.
Most everyone there rides bicycles or takes public transportation. There were bicycles everywhere.
I also found out that to register a motor vehicle in Denmark, you must pay ~170% of the purchase price. I would be riding a bicycle too!

170%. WOW I would not have 3 motorcycles and the truck. I would be riding public transportation and a bicycle. Thank goodness for USA.

It is interesting how many people women and men ride motorcycles or scooters especially Vespas in Paris. I would sit in a cafe with my wife and just watch all of the bikes go by. So cool. I think she accepted it as that was the way it was going to be! If I was sitting in Chicago and watching cars and motorcycles with her at lunch and not paying better attention to her I would be in big trouble. I think she gave me get one out of jail free card with the trip to Paris.

Sometimes we don't really know how well we have it. I think in some parts of the world our bike would be twice the price. Australia if I'm not mistaken
