True! I guess I am accustomed to the Harley $$$$ prices...

To be fair, several of us have paid more than that for a seat or a muffler. But I guess both the seat and the muffler are a more direct response in either comfort or sound quality therefore get heard or felt more often than the headlight.
In that regard I guess I agree that other than the visual look of the headlight that 99% of common people would never notice unless they were standing 2 feet away and you pointed it out to them – a brighter light can be obtained for only tens of dollars by a simple bulb swap.

Don't get me wrong Powerdubs. I don't care what other people spend money on

I got a Road Comet for Heaven's sakes.
Just seems like a lot to me for a light, is all.
It does look cool.

If it makes you more visible to other drivers, then that's a safety bonus as well.

The issue with the brighter conventional bulbs is that the burn out much quicker than standard bulbs do. I had this happen with mine a couple years ago...I lost both the high and low beam and didn't know it until I got home.
I'm not one for HID bulbs and the LED setups seem to be a really good alternative to that. Also doing the el-cheapo HID conversion bulbs is a non-stater for me because the housings weren't designed for an HID bulb so they throw light all over the place instead of sending a concentrated beam on the roadway.
I would really love to see one of these in person to get a good idea of what they look like and how the beam looks on the road, but I think this is the way I will end up going with my headlight as SOME point...lol.
