Shortness of breath is not limited to blood clots but is an indicator of numerous ailments which should be checked out.
I also have been riding since 1980 but just recently added more time on the cycle per ride. The hospital doctor pointed to not stopping often to "get the blood circulating". Not sure this is the only reason for a blood clot but ...
