This is a scam running on Craigslist and other vehicle for sale sites. What I do when I get an email like the ones described, is to tell them if they want a vehicle history report, I will give them the VIN and they can pull the report. If they decide to purchase the vehicle, I will deduct the cost of the report from the price. I have yet to get a email back asking for the VIN.

Yes, thanks, Pete. These guys are amazingly creative. At least with this one, they haven't scammed you out of the vehicle or your money.
