Sadly, I had to let my CB go. At the ripe old age of 73, the weight, coupled with my weak knees forced me to relinquish my ownership. I truly loved the CB for its features, quality, reliability, and smoothness.
Struggled with what to replace it with. Rode a Kawasaki W800...loved the looks and the lighter weight, but the vibration was intolerable. Settled on a 2010 Triumph T100 that seems to fit me well. Saw a post from Gone on the Triumph Rat forum....
Thanks to all here for the advice, knowledge, and assistance..
Best
Strange (obviously, IMO). I have both a 2017 CB1100 and a 2022 Triumph T120 and they are pretty close in weight and ease (or difficulty) of balancing and riding. Is the T100 that much lighter or easier to manage than the T120?
The Triumph is a great bike and I expect you'll enjoy it!
Sorry to hear you had to part with the CB1100, Wagonpeddler. Good luck with the T100. And don’t be a stranger.
Hey, Wagonpeddler, sorry to hear that you had to let your CB go. Yup, I have a ‘12 T100, basically the same bike you just bought. On paper the weight is similar, but riding both regularly, I find that the Triumph seems less top-heavy at low speeds and is easier to push around in the garage.
The 360 twin is also pretty smooth, not inline-4 smooth, but more so than my 270 Enfield twin. Very comfortable for me and has been extremely reliable for many years and many miles.
If I had any complaints, the brakes are not as good as the CB’s, but you’ll get used to it.
Just glad to see that you’re still riding!
Sorry to hear that Wagonpeddler, but understand completely.
I had a 2003 T-100. Good bike. I also thought it was very smooth, a lot smoother than my 270 degree NC or my brothers 270 degree T-120. I ended up selling my T-100 to my younger brother who rode it a couple of years, then he sold it to my son's FIL who rode it a couple of years, then he finally sold it out of the family.

It is a little lighter, but seems a LOT easier to maneuver around the garage. Indeed, Gone, not as smooth as the CB, but surprisingly so for a twin.
Wow, Wagon, that's a pretty color combo. When I was shopping for mine way back, I was deliberating over two, one in that green/cream color, and one in black. The guy with the black one was getting quite a bit of pressure from his missus to get it out of the garage, it had about 800 miles on it, and he made me a swingin' deal to make her happy.
A little Wenol on a rough terry cloth will clean up those pipes. How do you like the Marlin screen (assuming that's a Marlin).
Bonneville impressions...
After about a month with the Triumph, here's a few notes on how it compares to the CB1100:
Very happy with the reduced weight. My knees really tell the difference.
Odd, looking down while riding and not seeing that massive lump protruding form both sides. With the Triumph, all I see is road.
The Dart screen is pretty useless (for me). Looking at windshield options, as I've always had one.
I miss the fuel gauge (although the Triumph has a low fuel indicator light).
So far, gas mileage is 38-41 mpg....8-9 mpg less than the Honda!
The 5 speed transmission is adequate for me as I never leave the back roads here.
A fuel injected engine with a choke (enricher)? Huh?
Same oil level window as the Honda, but larger and easier to see.
Haven't done oil change yet, but oil filter is on the underside of the engine, unlike every other bike I've owned where the filter protrudes from the engine front.
Oh...after I finally got used to the horn button ABOVE the turn signal switch, now they are reversed again!!!
Happy with the new bike, however. Just need to become acclimated to the differences.
