Does anyone know if the 2014 Deluxe (red w/ABS) seat is interchangeable with any other model/years?

For example, is it interchangeable with the 2017 models?

Or any others?
You could try some of the 'Possibly related threads' at the bottom of this page. For example, see https://cb1100forum.net/forum/showthread.php?tid=8637 Also try the forum's search feature. Search for seats and posts by the user Houtman_imp. He had all three CB1100s and once posted about their interchangeability.
Will do! I searched here, ADVrider, the web, but my search-fu is weak.

I appreciate you steering me in Houtman_imp, etc. direction.

I may be overly paranoid that the Deluxe is an odd duck as far as seat and tank dims go.
I often switched my 2013 seat  with my 2014 and vice versa, and my 2014 std seat switched with my dlx and never had a problem *
* I removed the rail grabs from all of my three CBs because all bikes always had installed Honda rear rack and SW-Motech side racks.
I think the answer is that they're all interchangeable, but please don't hold me to that.

What's the question you want answered? Is it whether a 2014 DLX seat will fit a 2017 EX?

I am possibly interested in this seat:

But the fitment information is confusing at best:
 "CB1100 -16 EX (except CB1100)  Undecided

I read somewhere that the 2014 deluxe tank is a different dimension than all other years and models (at least here in the US), and therefore seats made for other models/years may not fit my bike properly.

I figure if someone knows if for example the 2017 seats are the exact same size and fit as the 2014 Deluxe seat, then it’s a safe bet that the seat I’m interested in will actually fit my bike.

Thanks!  Great data points!

So that opens up another question about racks:

My impression looking at pictures and install instructions is that the Honda genuine accessory rear rack doesn't play nice with the SW Motech QR racks because both use the same mounting points.

I don't know if I'm asking an annoying question--if this would be a big hassle for you --but if it isn't asking a lot, could you possibly post photos of the mounting points with the accessory side and rear racks attached.  (If it is a hassle, please disregard).
As it happens, Webike Japan is a member of the forum. https://cb1100forum.net/forum/member.php...e&uid=2899

Why not try sending a PM and seeing what they say.

When I put a generic kit on the bike to support my saddlebags I used the standard mounting points. I had to get new bolts as the OEM ones were too short. I tried to get longer replacements from Honda with the lugs on the end, but it was during COVID, they had to come from Japan, and I'm still waiting.

Thanks Cormanus, you all are great!

Do you have the part number for the longer bolts that you are still waiting on?

Was the purpose of the lugs specifically for adding accessory racks, etc.?

(Note: I think some of my present confusion as evidenced by my recent posts comes from "over-studying" over the past several weeks as I tried to research all the years/models of this bike in preparation for buying mine--I think I absorbed a lot of pre-release speculation posted in the ADVrider thread by folks as early as 2012 who hadn't yet laid hands on one in actual physical reality, so now I have a lot of unlearning to do. I greatly appreciate you all here and on ADVrider who.are actual owners helping me get the facts straight.)

On a completely clear-headed note: now that I have my CB1100 in actual physical reality, my love for this bike deepens with every ride.  What a stellar piece of design and engineering! What an absolute joy to ride!
As per post #7 these SW-Motech side racks are for much smaller and softer panniers than I presently have on my DLX.
My side racks are more rectangular and panniers are bigger and harder.
There is no need for the grab rails while Honda OEM rear rack and SW-Motech side racks are installed, bcos the rear turn signals are bolted to a special bracket provided by SW as a kit.

As to the smaller "old shape" gas tank for 2010-2016, I had DLX/Japanese EX bigger gas tank mounted on my '13 model and then before selling the bike, I tranfered it onto my '14 model. Absolutely no issue with fitment, seat interferance and fuel gauge reading at all.
ALL my accessories are installed as per manufacture instruction or better.
Gas tank specs: dlx = 4.6 gal, std = 3.9 gal, 0.7 gal difference.
