Good day, Members,

In early April, we began the stand up of the new CB1100 Forum. On May 3, we started the data migration.

Here is a summary of the work accomplished to date:
  • Setup CB1100Forum.net using the most secure release of MyBB
  • Setup automated maintenance tasks and data backup schedules where possible
  • Setup maintenance schedules for those tasks which can’t be automated
  • Setup two system administrators who have credentials to the (1) Forum and (2) Hosting Infrastructure
  • Migrated technical data from the prior site and combined it with new threads and posts (13,850 threads / 258,927 posts in total)
  • Associated migrated data with Members who registered on the new site
  • Added a “Like” plugin
  • Created a Responsive Theme which adjusts to any device used by a Member
  • Rebranded the header to make it easier for Members to tell which site they are using
  • Created a dark mode option for those who prefer that aesthetic
  • Coded and installed a Table Creator Plugin
  • Coded and installed a Superscript capability
  • Coded and install a Subscript capability
  • Installed a security stack to address known vulnerabilities

I am delighted to report that pdedse has accepted our request to assist as a Forum Moderator. Cormanus and I will meet with him next weekend to provide some training. The not so secret plan I have is to turn over the strategic planning of the Forum to Cormanus and pdedse. They have a long history with the Forum and have demonstrated abilities.

I plan to complete the nerd work in the background and make sure that the Forum remains stable. I also like to post, too, and celebrate the joy of owning a CB1100.

As of this post, we have approximately 100 registered Member. We are adding 2-3 Threads each day with 15-20 daily posts. Thanks to everyone who is driving content. It is far more important to the future of the Forum than the geek stuff. You are the people who make the greatest difference.

For ease of data migration, we picked the same platform as the original site. As this site settles in, one of the items for consideration is if we remain on the MyBB platform or migrate to another. More to follow on that subject later.

We encourage everyone to reach out to those folks who may have wondered off from cb1100forum.com and join us on cb1100forum.net. We would like everyone to return home.

Have a great week.

David
