Thanks I’ll look into this
Mine held up quite well and did it's job when I was hit on the freeway.

I was thinking of a modular- but read the sharps report on the Neotec II (which is highly regarded) and if I am not mistaken it says something that made me think it meant the helmet came unlocked 30% of the time in an accident. Nope nope nope. Not doing that...
If you find that report, I would be interested in reading it. I did extensive research on the Neotech 2 before plunking down the purchase price. One of the parameters of my research was a modular chin bar that would stay locked closed in a crash, and I did not find anything about failure to stay latched closed for the Neotech 2. I did find some other brands that did fail to stay latched in a crash, but Shoei was not one of them.
It would be [url=https://sharp.dft.gov.uk/helmets/shoei-neotec-ii/]this site, 2017EX.

A good place to look when you're thinking of buying a new helmet.
This is one of the reasons that I would not buy a modular helmet , even the Shoei had only a 70 % rating for not unlocking in testing.
The HJC IS MAX 2 had a 100% rating for not unlocking in testing.
I only saw the one about Shoei !
