I've been looking for a new pair of gloves.
My very high end Dainese gloves (which were $$$
served me well, did their job in my accident- and zero damage to my hands.
That being said- although they are still 100% usable (just scratches across the metal knuckle plates) they had some things I thought could be improved on- namely comfort and airflow.
But- I didn't want to give up on any safety. You will be amazed at how many gloves off very little protection- or some in some areas but not others.
What I found is in many gloves- you can get a feature, or another- but try to get both and the options drop to next to nothing. And most options that have several quality features are only on full race gloves in weird colors- and meant for the track.
I've spent more than the last year looking around- and haven't been able to find a glove that met what I was looking for.
I found them- in a brand that I had dismissed earlier as being a 'fashion' brand and mistakenly thought they made all show no go stuff.
After watching countless video reviews and looking at websites all around the world- I stumbled upon the Roland Sand F luck Gloves.
Tag-lined as "built for the track but at home on the street."- they aren't kidding. "With a 1.1-mm - 1.3mm premium cowhide and goatskin construction combined with KNOX armor and TPU impact zones these gloves offer the gnarliest protection yet are designed to be comfortable for everyday riding"
They have raised sliders on the entire finger- accordion stretch on the finger joints and back of hand. Complete knuckle cap guard w/ raised sliders. Double leather layer on the pinky AND the pinky is tied together secured to the ring finger like race gloves to help keep it from braking.
Touchscreen index finger- goat skin bottom, Knox slider / impact protection at the base of the palm as well as a large shield at the side of your wrist.
All comes together with a perforated leather for breath-ability- and a velcro closure that has it's own impact / slide protection.
These gloves are insane with the complete set of protection with quality thick leather, combined with airflow, goatskin palm.. wow.
Only problem? When I found them- they were already discontinued and out of stock everywhere... except one place I found them - only in large- but at a greatly discounted price from new!
If you wear a large and appreciate what they have to offer you can still get them for $115 and shipping-
