I'd get another MRI and opinion on your shoulder. I have a sometimes painful shoulder that I am at the stage of just starting to take over the center meds- infrequently. I absolutely know the day 15 years ago I injured it throwing a baseball a couple hundred times to my little league team. I feel ill need some surgery as things get worse.
Back in 83 after totaling my bike on car doing a left in front of me I hung it up. Lost a family member recently so I figured why put the family through that stress.
Reupped about five years ago after a 26 year break. Still think about quitting from time to time, in a light theoretical way because of all the idiots, texters and such.

What part of Houston? I am on the south side, in Pearland. Most of my riding is back roads, between here and the coast. In town is basic insanity.
I sort of quit riding, sort of.
Over the last 2 years, I was riding less and less. My lifestyle had changed such that I was spending more time exercising and eating better, so the typical Saturday ride with unhealthy meals mixed in fell by the wayside. That wasn't a bad thing, really.
Early this year, I decided I wasn't riding my bike enough to justify it, so I sold it in April. Funny thing was, I had originally planned to sell it when I bought my Mustang in January 2013 since I only felt I could justify one toy. I sold the Mustang before I ended up selling my V-strom.
When I sold the bike, I had already planned to bring my 1978 Honda XL175 out of storage a couple counties away and keep it at my house. I knew I wouldn't ride it much both because it's age and because it really isn't all that great to ride. Still, I thought it would satisfy my want for a motorcycle.
I had fun putt'n around town and down some back roads, but I quickly realized how much I missed having a big bike with satisfying power. I started looking around for something in the $3000 range. I tried to buy my neighbor's 883 Sportster that they don't ride. Almost got that, but they wouldn't turn loose of it. Looked at a couple of Buells, but everything I could find was beat.
I ended up finding my CB for a good price and took the plunge. I have no regrets because the CB is a good short distance ride. I'd prefer something with better wind protection and luggage capacity if I were doing longer rides, but the CB is perfect with the single saddlebag and small screen. The only thing it isn't is light.
So, I bought a 250cc Supermoto to play around on. It makes a good stable mate to the CB, but I know I will get bored with it. I still want a larger dual sport, so I may sell it and get a KLR650. So, I went from having one motorcycle in my garage to three. What can I say? It's in my blood!
I rode in my teens and sold my bike to go to college and was then dirt poor for years and wandering all over the country. I missed riding but I was traveling to some pretty cool places and seeing some exciting things, castles in Germany, hillside farm in New Zealand, the Scottish Highlands, Jura Mountains in Switzerland, train from Germany to S. Italy, East Chermany unter those pesky Russkies in 89. But in 1999 I had to have a bike again and got an 82 CB650. Too many bikes since then with a few years off in between saving for the next ride. Sold my 919 in May and I've been loony since! Saving saving saving with my wife trying to ruin in the next ride's finances all the while! "Honey! We need a new mattress!"
